A Penny for Your Dog
The Battle Creek Police Department needs a new police dog, and A Forever Recovery is proud to announce our participation in “A Penny for Your Dog”. You can help, too. Join us on August 14 from 11:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. at Post Community Credit Union in the USA to enjoy the festivities and contribute to this worthy cause.
In order to adopt Ace, the Battle Creek Police Department needs to raise $14,000 more. They have raised $3,000 so far, and A Forever Recovery has agreed to do a grant match for up to $5,000, so that brings the total funds on hand to $8,000. The Credit Union needs to raise another $2,000 to complete $10,000 with the AFR contribution.
Residents can participate in the fundraiser “A Penny for Your Dog” by bringing in and donating their old pennies. In return, they will meet former Detroit Lions Players and receive an AFR mini football autographed by the player. Herman Moore will sign the first round of signatures (other players will be announced soon).
Meet Ace, and join us in helping the Police Department add Ace to their team! Enjoy free hot dogs, and play “Jump the Line” and “Guess the Pennies” to receive a big football or a signed jersey. The winner of “Guess the Pennies” gets to take home the jar full of pennies. There will also be a new race car on display for your enjoyment.
