Why Every Teen Needs to Be Educated on the Signs of Alcohol Poisoning
There are a lot of problems that come and go in this country, some of which are more serious than others. Presently, one of the most prevalent in the United States is teen drinking and drug abuse. We are seeing needless deaths from teens binge drinking in high school and college. For this one reason alone, teens need to be educated on the signs of alcohol poisoning.
Why You Should Know the Signs of Alcohol Poisoning
Teens are not the only individuals who need to know the signs of alcohol poisoning. Many parents and other adults do not know these signs and symptoms. Alcohol poisoning is an emergency and you should seek medical attention immediately in these cases. Studies show that drug and alcohol abuse and addiction are actually skyrocketing with each passing year. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention even labeled this problem as being a full-on epidemic in this country in 2012, This was the first time in the history of the country that the problem ever got a label like this.
Realistically, people in this country are only just now starting to see that substance abuse is a growing concern and an impacting crisis for all who struggle with it. Knowing the signs of alcohol poisoning could literally save lives. Many deaths occur every year and many individuals are hospitalized because of it. The problem is that most teens don’t realize how dangerous alcohol can be. They have heard about the dangers of drugs and that they can kill, but they think because alcohol is legal, this can’t happen.
What people are most scared of and the most surprised to learn perhaps is that alcohol is the culprit in more than fifty percent of all drug and alcohol addiction issues! Signs of alcohol poisoning are everywhere, and these symptoms are reported in American hospitals every day in the hundreds, and sometimes in the thousands especially around the holidays.
